The Bishop’s Residence … a cultural-historical jewel and the treasure throve of the bishops of Brixen

The Hofburg Brixen, one of the most precious and magnificent residences in South Tyrol. The former bishop’s seat host a unique collection of Tyrolean cribs of three centuries and the highly interesting Diocesan Museum with 70 show rooms. The inner courtyard of the Hofburg Brixen is considered one of the most impressive castle courtyards of South Tyrol and is renowned for its terracotta statues of the Schongau sculptor Hans Reichle.

Every first Monday of the month, the scene is set for “The art object of the month”. A special object from the collection of the museum. On Thursdays, the Hofburg invites you to a guided tour through its magnificent rooms. On Fridays, special tours are offered for art and culture lovers.
