Brixen / Plose

In the civic gallery Brixen from 15th January to 27th February 2016, the exhibition “Books” works by Andy Warhol of the art collection Rippa Bonati Padova is on display. A cultural treat that you should not miss. Andy Warhol, born on 6th August 1928 in Pittsburgh, Pennsylvania, is a painter, graphic designer, designer, film producer and is the main representative of pop art. Known for his unmistakable prints of mass idols of music, cinema and politics like Elvis Presley, Marilyn Monroe, John F. Kennedy and everyday objects like soup cans, coke bottles or bank notes.

Did you know? Dark sunglasses and biker jacket? Hardly anybody would think of Barbie like this. Already in 1986, Warhol created a portrait of Barbie that is still nowadays in the halls of the company Mattel. In 2015, the pop art artist and his style became a model themselves. The rocky version of the otherwise rather pink version of the doll in limited number wears boots, tight jeans and a short platin blonde bob haircut.
