The chestnut orchards around Brixen have already put on their autumn coloured dress. Massy Chestnut trees reach high up into the sky. In this wonderful landscape a much appreciated and tasty fruit grows: the Chestnut of the Eisacktal Valley, the so called “Keschte”. A real treat for the palate! Culinary delis will be spoilt by the local inns and restaurants at the Chestnuts’ Weeks from 18th October to 3rd November 2013. The chefs will use these noble fruits to create delicious and creative dishes of chestnuts. Not only culinary treats will be presented but also nature and culture lovers will enjoy the varied programme of guided hikes, concerts, fall festivals and events around the chestnut.
